Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line launched an entirely new concept in 1966 by offering regularly scheduled Caribbean cruises from the then relatively unknown port of Miami.
They established themselves with a reputation for good food and friendly service combined with value for money prices.
As a company they are always innovative and forward-looking and have been a cruise industry leader for four decades with a fleet that is at home in Europe as it is in the Caribbean.
They have also removed set dining making it possible for passengers to spend more time ashore without the concern of missing dinner.
Norwegian Cruise Line have some of the largest suites at sea, and an abundance of interconnecting staterooms in most categories making their ships attractive for families and groups.
For children and teens, each vessel offers the Kid's Crew programme of supervised entertainment for young cruisers ages 2 to 17. Younger children are split into three groups, ages 2 to 5, 6 to 9, and 10 to 12 with teen appropriate activity options for 13 and older. Activities range from storytelling, games, and arts and crafts to dinner with counsellors, pyjama parties, and treasure hunts.
As a cruise line NCL are renown for top-quality, high-energy entertainment and place a high emphasis on health and fitness facilities.
Mandara Spa offers unique and exotic spa treatments fleetwide including a long menu of massages, body wraps, and facials plus extensive hair and nail services.
Guests will experience a holiday that combines action, activities, and a variety of dining options in a casual, free-flowing atmosphere with NCL's Freestyle Cruising style.
Their ships offer a host of flexible dining options that allow passengers to choose open seating in the main dining rooms or dine in any of a number of la carte and speciality restaurants at any time and with whichever companions they would like.
Evening entertainment on NCL cruises features extravagant Broadway and Las Vegas-style revues presented in main show lounges by lavishly costumed singers and dancers. The night time entertainment programme also features comedians, magicians, jugglers, and acrobats and guests can join in by taking part in talent shows or step up to the karaoke microphone.
Each ship in the fleet has a casino, bingo sessions, and art auctions amongst the wide selection of other entertainment options. Norwegian Cruise Lines large, modern ships stand out whilst at sea or in port with their distinctive use of hull art.
Each new ship is distinguished by murals extending from bow to mid-ship. The main dining rooms onboard serve Continental fare, and health-conscious menu selections and vegetarian choices are always available.
NCL's speciality restaurants are second to none, especially the French-Mediterranean Le Bistro (on all ships), the pan-Asian restaurants, and steak houses (on the newer ships).
The newer the ship, the wider the variety of choice with as many as 10 or more places to eat. You may find Spanish tapas, an Italian trattoria, a steak house, and a pan-Asian restaurant complete with a sushi and sashimi bar and teppanyaki room.
Some venues carry a cover charge or are priced la carte and require reservations.
