There are few better ways to celebrate your best mate or family member getting married than by heading to somewhere nice and warm, where you can chill out on the beach, indulge in some sports and enjoy a fantastic nightlife. Spain has all this, and more.
When searching through Maximise stag dos in Europe, Spain will have no doubt caught your eye. After all, it boasts many cities and beach resorts that are perfect for gathering up your friends and enjoying some quality time together.
Below are the best places to head to for a stag weekend.
Benidorm
Benidorm is a fantastic Spanish destination to holiday in for a few days. Not only are you likely to enjoy pleasant weather, but its popularity means there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, which helps to keep prices competitive.
You can spend your days sunbathing on the beach, head to one of the nearby theme parks or take part in activities such as paintballing, karting and water sports. Benidorm has a wide selection of theme parks to choose from, should your group of friends be adrenaline junkies. One of the best is Terra Mitica Park. This is home to rides like Titanide, a rollercoaster which loops, twists and turns at speeds of more than 60 mph. Inferno is another white-knuckle ride and will flip you upside down and spin you around.
If anyone in your group does not like large rides, you can always send them on the child-friendly ones, such as the Alucinakis miniature runaway train!
Barcelona
Should you prefer a city break to a beach one, Barcelona is a must for stags. It does have stretches of sand for the sun worshippers among you, but a stag do here will be more about its bustling bars, cultural attractions and, of course, Barcelona FC.
A visit to the football team's stadium – Camp Nou – is essential for stag parties who come to the Spanish city. Barcelona FC have played here since 1957, and one of the best ways to learn some interesting facts and history is to go on a tour.
The Camp Nou Experience will allow you to explore the press boxes, players' tunnel, changing rooms and the stadium's museum. A trip to the club shop means your group can pick up some souvenirs that remind you of the fantastic stag weekend, while you might decide to all chip in to purchase something special for the groom-to-be.
Ibiza
If you and your friends really like to party, Spain's Ibiza should be at the top of your list when searching for places to celebrate. The Balearic Island is famous for being home to some of the most best-known nightclubs in the world, like Pacha.
You really will send the stag off into married life with a bang if you choose Ibiza for his stag party. While it is famous for its gorgeous beaches, water sports and amazing nightlife, don't forget that Ibiza has some leading cultural and historical sites too.
The island has been granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status, so if you have time, check out the Eivissa old town, Sa Caleta Phoenician site and the Puig des Molins necropolis. However, there is nothing wrong with simply staying in the thick of the party action and relaxing on the beach each day, before partying well into the morning.
