Already decided where to go on holiday next year? A holiday in Spain is a holiday in the country of big contrasts where the green nature gets mixed with mountains and wonderful beaches. Without any need to go very far, you can enjoy a walk in the mountains and breathe pure air, practice sightseeing in a big city and relax on the beach.
For the next months in Spain there is a large list of places to visit and things to do in a holiday in Spain. Whether you choose the north of Spain and its spectacular mountains, ski resorts, and its delightful gastronomy or the charming southern Spain, centre of flamenco and base for golf and beach holidays in Spain, if you have decided Spain, you won’t be disappointed.
Andalucia is in southern Spain, the region closest to Africa. Many holiday makers find their holiday destination in Andalucia, including Malaga, Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Cadiz. Andalucia has many spectacular Moorish monuments and a coastline that borders on the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
Apart from summer, which is the most typical period of the year to go on holiday to Andalucia, winter is wonderful time for a visit too. Numerous cruises arrive to Malaga harbour with tourist from all over the world, and there´s a lot going on the cafes, museums, parks and promenades. One of the main purposes of a winter holiday in Spain is to get rid of the cold temperatures and rain as well as to enjoy the sun and the warm. Holiday rental accommodation in Spain is a great opportunity to spend the cold winter in a warm area.
Northern Spain is definitely unique when compared to the southern attractions. Less of a tourist Mecca, it is definitely worth a visit if you have the time.
Tourism in the north is more focused to active holidays and adventures due to its gorgeous nature. Skiing holidays in Spain are a good example of the active holidays although Spain is not world renowned for its ski resorts but it is the second most mountainous country in Europe, after Switzerland, with more than 20 skiing areas.
Other types of sports can be practiced on River Sella in Asturias. Descending the Sella is much more than just the central festivity of the Asturian summer. It is the province’s most popular event. It starts in spring and ends at the end of autumn. Thousands of people from all over the world descend in canoes, which are built to stand up to a competition that usually lasts several months.
Walking through north Spain is great as well, and it seems to be stepping back into history. As you stroll along ancient footpaths from one picturesque village to another, you will come upon mediaeval castles, intimate chapels and traditional farmhouses so old you can
almost hear them sigh.
Either for active holidays and relaxation holidays, Spain from north to south is the ideal destination for your next holidays.
