Beachcomber Hotels has announced that its Shandrani Resort & Spa in Mauritius was named the best international family hotel at the Junior Design Awards.
One of the factors in the property’s popularity with the family market is the range of entertainment and activities that it offers.
Guests can stay on land to go mountain biking or play tennis, golf and volleyball, while those who enjoy aquatic pursuits can make the most of the hotel’s location on Blue Bay and try waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkelling or sailing.
Shandrani also boasts an official Professional Association of Diving Instructors dive centre, while its sailing club is a member of the Mauritius Yachting Association.
Attractions on offer near the resort include the Ile aux Aigrettes wildlife sanctuary, which is home to rare and endangered animals such as the pink pigeon, which is on the brink of extinction.
Children will also enjoy visiting the Bob Marlin Mini Club, which offers a range of fun and educational activities, while parents can pamper themselves at La Source, a spa providing a choice of Clarins treatments and products.
Family packages at the Shandrani Resort & Spa start from £5,870, which includes accommodation for the whole family, economy flights with Air Mauritius, transfers and other provisions.
