If you are looking to enjoy both adventure and luxury on your next holiday, there are few better choices than booking first class flights to Auckland.
New Zealand's largest city has a host of top-class hotels to choose from and plenty of cultural attractions to visit. But it also has a huge range of experiences designed to excite thrill seekers.
Whether you want to scare yourself in the air, take part in exhilarating activities on the sea or explore rugged landscapes, you'll be able to do it in the Auckland area. The list of options is almost endless, but read on to find out more about five of the best.
People throwing themselves off things is something of an obsession in New Zealand, so you are sure to want to join in by trying the SkyJump. This base jump involves plummeting 192 metres down from the country's tallest building – the Sky Tower – at a speed of more than 80 km/h. It's certainly the quickest and most exciting way of getting to the Sky City Plaza!
There are also plenty of thrills and spills to enjoy on the waves. Try booking a kitesurfing lesson on the southern bank of Manukau Harbour – less than 40 minutes from the centre of Auckland – for the ultimate in excitement on the water. If you get a real kick out of it, you could even book a five-day kitesurfing tour of the North Island's most beautiful beaches.
If you travel to Auckland on Emirates first class flights and stay at a high-quality hotel, you'll certainly have experienced the luxury side of your holiday. So why not offset that by roughing it a little with a day of canyoning? Head out of the city to the Waitakere Ranges and you'll be able to climb up waterfalls, jump down canyons and explore caves.
Another way to enjoy a day of adventure on Auckland's coast is to make the short journey to Goat Island, where you'll find all the facilities you need for snorkelling or scuba diving trips. Fishing is banned in this nature reserve, so there is lots of marine life to marvel at during your dives.
To make your sightseeing a little more exhilarating, try climbing to the top of Auckland Harbour Bridge. Not only will you be presented with superb views of the city, you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy a bungee jump – something that no adventurous holiday to New Zealand would be complete without.
