California to host Royal Summer

The Three Days Isn’t Enough campaign will be launched as part of the state’s Royal Summer, with California Tourism highlighting places the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could have taken in had they stayed longer.
Los Angeles and Santa Barbara will host the royal couple during their brief sojourn through the area, but the tourism body noted that this will only be a tiny taster of what is on offer.
The advertising campaign will highlight activities such as white water rafting in Gold Country, kayaking in Mono Lake, hiking in Mendocino and relaxing in the hot springs of Mammoth.
“We’ve crowned this the Royal Summer in California, to truly own our incredible enthusiasm for this once-in-a-generation occasion,” explained California Travel and Tourism Commission chief executive Caroline Beteta.
“We know the Duke and Duchess are here on official business and have a productive schedule ahead of them in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, yet we couldn’t pass up this golden opportunity to point out what they could do with more time in California.”
The royal couple recently visited Canada, where they participated in a boat race and Prince William practised how to land a helicopter on water.
