Holidaymakers heading to Slovenia this summer are likely to get the chance to experience one of the nation’s many festivals.

The country is hosting a plethora of cultural and musical events throughout the warmer months, with Ljubljana alone home to no fewer than 30 festivals.

However, the capital is not the only place capable of attracting an international audience with its events – the Festival Sevigc Brezice in Brezice celebrates live music.

Taking place from June 22nd to September 4th, it will see a number of live concerts of traditional music at some of the city’s best-known monuments and historical sites.

Meanwhile, the Summer Imago Slovanjae 23rd International Music Festival runs at a number of venues across the nation from June 16th until September 2nd.

With 19 host towns, visitors should have plenty of opportunities to check out the works of more than 260 musicians from 12 countries as they play 41 concerts of classical music, jazz and ethno music.

The Ljubljana Festival began last week (July 3rd) and runs until September 4th. It sees events including concerts, opera, ballet and art exhibitions taking place throughout the city.

Slovenia borders Italy, Croatia, Austria and Hungary and enjoys a small stretch of Adriatic coastline, as well as a little piece of the Alps.
