There will be no shortage of experiences on offer to travellers looking for holiday ideas in India this year, with the Holi Festival returning to Delhi next month.
The celebration of the end of winter and the arrival of summer will get underway on March 20th 2011 and continue for 16 days.
During the festival, holidaymakers can see the city of New Delhi brought to life in an explosion of colour, with locals traditionally bidding farewell to winter by throwing coloured powder over friends and family.
Revellers also spray one another with coloured water and treat themselves to sweets, providing plenty of fun and entertainment for children in particular.
According to Premier Holidays, now is the “perfect time” to visit Delhi, a “multicultural, cosmopolitan metropolis” full of history and culture that will be celebrating its centenary as India’s capital in 2011.
The company is offering four nights at the ITC Maurya, a Luxury Collection hotel, from £778 per person, which also includes flights from London Heathrow with Jet Airways and transfers.
This package is valid from March 1st to August 31st 2011.
At the ITC Maurya, guests can sample the cuisine on offer at the hotel’s five dining establishments, including Bukhara, which has regularly been voted one of the world’s best restaurants.
