Kent
With a nominal border with France through the Channel Tunnel – Kent is one of the most southerly counties of England, home to the historic cities of Rochester and Canterbury. The latter is home to Canterbury Cathedral – one of the finest monuments to Christianity in the world and Mother Church of the Anglican Communion. Dover Castle, Leeds Castle and Heaver Castle (childhood home of Anne Boleyn) also offer an interesting insight into the history of the county. In the more modern world, Kent offers a full range of coastal activities, as well as horse riding, golf and cycling. For younger visitors the Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks are likely to provide a welcome diversion, while there is a chance to unravel the secrets of the Dinosaur & Dragon Valley at Groombridge Place Gardens & Enchanted Forest.
