AirAsia X will introduce a route linking Paris, France to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next year.
The carrier, which is the long-haul, low-fare affiliate of AirAsia, will offer four weekly services between the cities from February 14th 2011 in a bid to make travel between Asia and Europe “more accessible and affordable than ever before”.
Paris is the airline’s second destination in Europe, following the launch of a flight route between London and Kuala Lumpur last year.
To promote the launch, travellers are being offered fares starting from 99 euros (£85) one-way if they book between November 22nd and 24th 2010 for travel between February 14th and November 10th next year.
AirAsia X founder Tony Fernandes said the new route represented the realisation of an ambition to provide affordable access between Malaysia and Europe for both European travellers and communities within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Azran Osman-Rani, the carrier’s chief executive officer, added: “The new route is a significant achievement for us and is a reflection of our commitment to expanding our international operations further.
“Like Kuala Lumpur’s low-cost carrier terminal . the gateway of ASEAN, Paris Orly has true potential to be the gateway of Europe.”
The airline also flies to destinations such as Perth and Melbourne in Australia and Tokyo in Japan.
