One of the best ways to make the most of a holiday is to enjoy a multi-centre break – and when you combine the hustle and bustle of Dubai with rest and relaxation in Mauritius, the result is a perfect holiday with something to offer everyone. Read on to find out more.
Whether you're keen to indulge in a bit of retail therapy or simply kick back and relax with a drink on the beach, a multicentre break gives you the best of both worlds – and here are a few ideas to help you get started with your travel plans before you book a multi-centre break to Dubai and Mauritius with The Holiday Place.
Desert safaris and more in Dubai
When it comes to activities and things to do, it's hard to compete with Dubai. This stunning desert city offers plenty of activities to suit all ages and interests – whether you are passionate about shopping or keen to explore your setting on a desert safari, you'll find all this and more on offer here.
Shopping in Dubai is an experience unlike anywhere else. Here, shopping culture revolves around the city's elaborate malls, many of which are open until 22:00 local time each night. Each shopping centre has its unique features that set it apart from the competition – at the Mall of the Emirates, for example, visitors can access a massive ski slope! Alternatively, traditional souks are also well worth exploring – particularly the famed gold souk, which is well worth a visit.
Of course, there are plenty of things to see and do in Dubai beyond the shops. This is a brilliant place to have a desert adventure – and whether you are after an action-packed ride through the dunes in a powerful 4×4, a gentle camel ride or even the chance to try a new sport like sand-skiing, you'll find plenty of activities to choose from.
For the ultimate cultural experience, you may even wish to book a desert feast, complete with traditional Arabian music and a smorgasbord of local delicacies to sample.
Relax and unwind in marvellous Mauritius
Once you are finished with the hustle and bustle of Dubai, it might be time for a change in pace – and if you are keen to indulge in a bit of rest and relaxation, make Mauritius your next port of call on your holiday.
The best time of year to visit Mauritius largely depends on what you will be doing – although as a general rule, the months between April and June and from September to December are the most pleasant for tourists. The summer months between November and April, are the best for scuba diving and deep sea fishing, while the winter months from May to October (and especially June, July and August) are the best for surfing.
Thanks to its stunning beaches and laidback multicultural charm, Mauritius is a great place to simply relax and unwind. In particular, Mauritius is famous for its world-class spas – whether you are after a massage or an ocean-inspired treatment, you will find plenty of opportunities to relax and de-stress.
Don’t forget to sample the local cuisine, too; thanks to the mishmash of cultures on the island, the food here features a variety of flavours, from Indian spice to seafood cooked Creole-style. Sit down to a three-course meal in a restaurant or get a taste of Mauritius at one of the food stalls you’ll find on the streets.
