Boris Bikes were serenaded for Valentines Day

London commuters got a special Valentines surprise this morning after Wheel2Wheel Holidays showered 1,000 of the cities Boris Bikes with single red roses.

The new cycling holiday company placed single red roses and a postcard on 1,000 of the bikes with the message ‘fall in love with cycling’. The roses were placed on the front of the bikes early this morning in areas including Soho, Kensington, Mayfair, Covent Garden, Marylebone, Hyde Park, Knightsbridge and the City.

Chris Bird of Wheel2Wheel said: “As Wheel2Wheel is new to the leisure cycling industry we wanted to create a big impact and give lovers of cycling something nice on Valentines Day.

A large percentage of the London population now use bikes as a means of getting around the city. Wheel2Wheel have a similar attitude and see the bike as a means to travel around and discover new things rather than spending all day in the saddle.”

Wheel2Wheel offer a variety of unusual guided and self-guided cycling tours to landmark destinations and events across the world, and offer customers the chance to create their own tour to suit their budget.

In addition to some of the more classic cycling holiday destinations, such as the wine regions of France, destinations also include the Krakow and Tatras mountain tour in Poland, the Belfast Titanic Museum and the Maribor and Hot Springs tour in Slovenia.
