Travellers are being invited to visit New York in winter

Travellers visiting New York City over the coming months will be able to make the most of a range of special offers and initiatives designed to draw tourists to the destination during the winter season.

Marketing organisation NYC & Company announced the return of NYC Restaurant Week, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary between January 16th and February 10th 2012.

On weekdays, diners at hundreds of participating restaurants will be offered lunches and dinners for fixed prices of $24.07 (£15.10) and $35 respectively, excluding taxes and gratuities.

Theatre fans visiting New York between January 17th and February 4th next year will be able to pick up two-for-one tickets for top shows during Broadway Week, while Off-Broadway Week will offer the same deal for productions based outside the famous entertainment district.

The final winter promotion from NYC & Company is the Signature Collection Third Night, which allows guests to stay for a third night for free when booking for two consecutive nights at participating hotels between January 2nd and February 29th 2012.

Properties taking part in the initiative will be drawn from a range of luxury establishments known as the Signature Collection.

George Fertitta, chief executive of NYC & Company, encouraged travellers to pay a visit to New York this winter to discover a city that is "continuously evolving".

He added: "Every visit to New York City is a unique experience and it is a destination for visitors of all ages and interests."
